About Me

My name is Jani Häkkinen and I'm in my thirties. When I finished my school at the age of 16 years, I moved to Germany to work with horses. The time there was really great and I had great horses to ride. I learned so many things about riding, horsemanship, horse breeding etc. In fact, I got quite good results as a horse rider in Germany. Later I came back to Finland and continued my horse hobby on a small scale due to my back injury. Even though being with horses was almost like a job, I had to get my salary from daywork.

Currently I'm employed by the airlines here in Helsinki. I have been working there already for 10 years. I like my work a lot and I think it is a great chance to meet different people every day.

My hobbies are travelling, horses and dogs. However, the truth is that dogs take nearly all my free time. I really enjoy going to dog shows. During summer you can meet me almost every weekend at dog shows with my Afghans. Dog shows are a nice way to spend time and meet friends around the world. Dogs have been a part of my life for 10 years now. My first dog was Miniature Schnauzer pepper/salt bitch Trixer Herz "Hertta". she hasn't been shown, but she is my beloved sofa-champion girl.

Afghans came into my life by accident, it took a long time for me to get one. I imported "Clara" Agha Djari's Keep The Faith from Germany to Finland in 2002. I have learned many things about Afghans with Clara and Ada, and I couldn't imagine my life without an Afghan at home. In the near future I plan to start my own breeding. I want to breed healthy dogs with suitable temperament and very sound to the standard. I hope you enjoy your visit on my home pages!

Yours, Jani Häkkinen
